Gaggia Automatic Coffee Machines

Gaggia Milano was founded by Achille Gaggia who is considered the father of modern espresso. In 1938 he patented a new process that dramatically improved the qulaity of espresso. In 1947 he patended the lever espresso machine that used a piston to force hot water through coffee. This patent layed the foundation of how espresso would be made in the future.

Today Gaggia specializes in home espresso machines with a major focus on automatic espresso machines. Gaggia coffee machines are all manufactured in Gaggio Montano, Bologna Italy.
